ከአዲስ አበባ ፖሊስ ምንጮች አሁን በደረሰኝ መረጃ የአገር ውስጥ ደህንነት ሃላፊ የነበረው አረመኔው ወ/ስላሴ ወ/ሚካኤል በማእከላዊ ወንጀል ምርመራ መገረፉን አስታውቀዋል። የአዜብና መለስ ቀኝ እጅ የነበረው ይህ ጨካኝ የደህንነት ሹም በስልጣን በነበረበት ወቅት እነ ጄኔራል አሳምነውን በመደብደብ፣ አይናቸውን በቦክስ በመምታት ከፍተኛ የጭካኔ ተግባር ይፈፅም እንደነበረ ምንጮች አስታውሰዋል። በ1997-98 ዓ.ም በሺህ የሚቆጠሩ ሰላማዊ ወገኖች እንዲገደሉ፣ እንዲታሰሩና አሰቃቂ ግፍ እንዲፈፀምባቸው ያደረገው ወ/ስላሴ መሆኑን አያይዘው ገልፀዋል። በርካታ ሰዎች ከመግረፍና ከማሰቃየት ባለፈ በጥይት ደብድቦ ይገድል እነደነበረ አመልክተዋል። የቤተመንግስት የጥበቃ ሃላፊ አቶ ዘርኡ መለስ አንገታቸውን በስለት በማረድ እንዲሁም የመንገድ ት/ሚኒስትሩን አቶ አየነው ቢተውልኝን በገመድ አንቆ የገደለው ወ/ስላሴ መሆኑን ከዚህ ቀደም መገለፁ ይታወሳል። ወ/ስላሴ በትላንትናው እና በዛሬው እለት ሁለት ጊዜ መገረፉን ምንጮች አረጋግጠዋል

A face tinged with cruelty, wealthy warlord Woldesilssie W.Micael

He was the dead tyrant Meles Zenawi’s alter ego and docile horse for 21 years and the most feared man in the complex TPLF security cluster. He amassed millions through corrupt practices and managed to build his own kingdom in partnership with equally corrupt former first lady Azeb Mesfin and her daughter Semhal Meles, the two queens of his vast empire.

The malevolent warlord was well protected by the Zenawi family for 21 years and well placed in the inner circle of the ruling elite where lack of maturity among the junta often led to political upheavals, quarrelling, divisions, and susceptibility to large-scale thieving.

However, exactly one year after Zenawi’s death, a TPLF splinter group led by the ‘retired’ old codger Sebehat Nega, convinced chief spy Getachew Assefa to capture the vulnerable Woldselassie Woldemicael and throw him into the dark cells of central intelligence prison in Addis Ababa.

He was caught while enjoying the transcendental beauty of one of his flower farms outside Addis Ababa, near Holeta Genet town.

The most violent man who allegedly killed Zenawi’s ideological rival, former minister of communications Ato Ayenew in front of his wife and children and gained more notoriety when he pulled out a machete and barbarically chopped off the head of former palace security boss Tegadalay Zerhu, is now awaiting his fate after being arrested on corruption charges last week.

“Today I reaped a great harvest for the great leader.” The condemned warlord nicknamed by the ruling Tigre coterie “the red Khmer Rouge” reportedly told his commander whose name is known to the Horn Times after the gruesome killing of tegadaly Zerhu.

According to our sources inside the TPLF hierarchy, tegadaly Zerhu sympathizers who were longing for justice since Zenawi’s death are currently preparing to bring additional charges of murder against the jailed super-rich warlord.

“His fatal strategic error was that he remained loyal to Zenawi’s wife even after the tyrant’s death while others quickly switched side and joined the powerful Sibehat Nega clique. The ill-educated Woldesilassie played the loyalty game badly and ended up in jail. I doubt if he ever walks out of that prison alive. The desire to enjoy his corruptly accumulated wealth undisturbed has been lost because of his own terrible miscalculation of circumstances.” A political analyst based in Addis Ababa told the Horn Times.

“No one in the rival camp is safe or able to remain unruffled in the face of such onslaught disguised as anti-corruption drive. Tigray republic president Abbay Woldu, adviser to the Prime Minister Berket Simeon and, more important, mother of corruption Azeb Mesfin are deeply disturbed by the arrest of Woldesilassie whom they regard as their son. The cornered widow of the late ruler even let loose a torrent of swear-words directed at spy boss Getachew Assefa, but mark my words, she is next.” The analyst added.

Moreover, according to other credible reports obtained by the Horn Times, since her removal as CEO of EFFORT few days ago, Azeb Mesfin has been barred from leaving the country until the ongoing investigations into misappropriation of funds; tax evasion, money laundering, and alleged corruption are completed.

Ethiopia police block rally, beat activists

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) - An opposition leader in Ethiopia says police have prevented his group from staging a rally to demand the release of jailed activists.Yilkal Getnet, who heads the opposition Blue party, said Sunday that police raided their headquarters in the capital, Addis Ababa, on Saturday night and beat up some party members. He said police also seized banners and equipment that would have been used during a street protest on Sunday. He said the rally was meant to highlight the continued detention of some journalists and Muslim activists. Ethiopia has charged at least 28 Muslims activists with terrorism. But those activists say they have been unfairly targeted by the government, which they accuse of harassment. A spokesman for Ethiopian police was not immediately available for comment. Editor's Note Heavily-armed police cordoned off Semayawi Party HQ on the eve of the planned protest rally. The area was thrown into darkness after power was cut off. Police stormed and ransacked offices. Activists and supporters were beaten. Semayawi Party leaders were also arrested, including Blue Party leader Yilkal Getnet, who was released after two hours of detention. To cap government lawlessness, a pro-government rally was planned on the same day and at the same place in a clear move to override the planned protest rally.

In the evening of Saturday August 31, Semayawi Party headquarters around Ginfle, Addis Ababa, was buzzing like a bee hive as nearly one hundred party activists and organizers were busy making posters, writing slogans, stacking flags and other paraphernalia needed for a colorful rally. They were making the final push for a peaceful demonstration they had planned to hold the next morning with their supporters.

These peaceful and law-abiding citizens were doing what true political activists were supposed to do. They wanted to demand justice and freedom. They wanted to petition their rulers to respects the rights of citizens who are being routinely abused, tortured and killed in broad daylight. They only wanted to ask the thuggish TPLF regime to free all prisoners of conscience jailed on trumped-up terrorism and treason charges. They wanted to demand the TPLF to respect its own constitution. They were not preparing to commit acts of terrorism or bank robbery.

Suddenly there was a blackout. Electricity to Semayawi’s headquarters was cut off. Apparently hundreds of heavily armed ‘federal police’ officers had already besieged the office like terrorists.

Yidenekachew Kebede, the party’s legal affairs head and coordinator of the rally was heading to his office. ESAT reached him in good time on his cell phone. He was describing the situation in detail. He was very upset that such a criminality happens with impunity. He was outraged that the TPLF is treating Ethiopians worse than prisoners of war in their own country.

The young lawyer was outraged that the constitution, which the TPLF never respected, was being violated by armed thugs and criminals again. It was another evidence of lawlessness and tyranny that the TPLF has imposed on the people of Ethiopia. Those who were eager to demand freedom and justice for their people became victims of criminality. While he was telling ESAT that his colleagues and friends were under siege, a federal 

police officer

snatched his phone and the line was cut off. Apparently he was detained.

TPLF federal squad broke into the office and ransacked and beat Semayawi’s leaders and members. The party’s chairman Eng. Yilkal Getnet was also arrested and taken to a police station around Gedam Sefer. The thugs reportedly targeted everyone and even savagely attacked and kicked women. They detained all of Semayawi’s operatives found on the party’s premises for hours, kicked and tortured them. Scores of people were even made to roll over mud and dung in a bid to humiliate and degrade them. They were stat at and insulted by TPLF’s thugs.

According to Eng. Yilkal, he was released after a few hours. Other members who were also said to have been roughed up, beaten up and tortured were also freed. But the headquarters has reportedly been trashed. Documents, equipment, and all the materials prepared for the rally were taken away by the federal squad.

Ethiopians in the Diaspora has been expressing outrage on Facebook and Paltalk rooms. What has been the focus of angry discussion is how long the state-sponsored terrorism can go on. The decision to launch an illegal attack against a political party operating legally is another affront to law and order. TPLF’s thuggery and lawlessness has posed serious challenges to every law-abiding citizen. People are abused and tortured without any ground.

Semayawi is a relatively budding political party that should have been accorded protection. But TPLF’s paranoid has reached a critical and dangerous point. The more cornered it is, the more dangerous it is becoming. The attack against Semawi only reveals the level of fear gripping the TPLF and its cronies.

In a press release it issued, Semayawi has vowed to press for justice and rule of law. It emphasized that nothing will distract it from making demands and voicing the concerns of the people of Ethiopia.

In the meantime, Muslim Ethiopians are also being hunted down across the country. TPLF organized a rally in the metropolis on the day and at the venue where Semayawi had planned to stage a protest demonstration. The worst part is that TPLF is trying to create religious conflict among Christians and Muslims. The two religions have co-existed harmoniously for over a millennium. The futile efforts only reveal the fact that TPLF is desperate to survive.

No matter what the TPLF does, the struggle for equality, dignity, justice and freedom continues….

Ethiopia and its citizens have never been endangered and humiliated as under the rule of the woyane junta. The current problem of the country and its people is not only a question of lack of basic human rights, but it is a matter of life and death to the people and existence of Ethiopia as a sovereign country.

To fight the enemy which is responsible for the aforementioned situation and avert the danger, Ethiopians are wedging armed struggle and this is increasingly becoming the only and appropriate alternative.

Hence, Ginbot 7 Popular Force (G7PF) is established by freedom-loving Ethiopians, comprising youngsters, intellectuals and others. The main objectives of this force, as described on its website, are contributing to make the Ethiopian people owner of political power and establishing strong, sovereign and democratic Ethiopia. G7PF is working to remove TPLF by force and to create a peaceful transition period enabling establishment of non-partisan and constitutional defense, police, security, judiciary, etc. institutions which are crucial for a healthy playground for different political parties aspiring power in the country.

Among the current G7PF members are many intellectuals who joined this force abandoning their relatively comfortable living, families and professional jobs. This is one of the advantages of the G7PF compared to traditional armed struggles in Ethiopia where mainly farmers and other non-intellectuals are the main components of foot soldiers. Thus, the struggle of Ginbot 7 Popular Force gets skillful leadership on the ground and its members at the front properly understand why and whom they are fighting for and paying sacrifices.

Appreciating the efforts and the good intentions of G7PF, we Ethiopians in Norway have decided to support the force and established ad hoc committee (taskforce) mandated to coordinate a one-time fundraising in Oslo. As from the date of its establishment the taskforce is working on various activities and scheduled 28^th of September, 2013 the date for the grand fundraising event in Oslo.

During this event, on 28 of Sep., 2013, representatives of the G7PF leadership will be present and the program of the event comprises, discussions, fundraising and entertaining activities.

Therefore, the taskforce herewith kindly invite all Ethiopians and other nationals both from Norway and neighboring countries to take part in this event and support G7PF.

The Nameless Torture Victims of Ethiopian Rulers

The Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) victims such as Eskinder Nega and Andulem Argae are not forgotten, although they are not remembered to a desired level. Since these TPLF’s victims are among the few Ethiopians who are scarifying themselves and their families for the sake of freedom and justice they should be remembered forever.

Unfortunately, however, majority of the nameless- torture victims of TPLF are forgotten.  It appears Tesfaye Tekalign was one of these nameless torture victims. Tesfaye Tekalign is an indicator for numerous innocent citizens suffering from torture after being hijacked from streets, work places, homes and other places.  As Tesfaye described it in broken heart, the TPLF victims are taken away by spy agents without any court orders. Then, these victims are subjected to physical, mental and psychological torture. The TPLF cadres and spies put citizens whom they do not like in isolated dark rooms for months and years. They burn these victims with electric current; immerse them in to very hot and cold water alternatively. Furthermore, they fiercely beat them until they end up with urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, mental incapacity, psychological disturbance and so on.

The TPLF Agents and loyalists deny the victims’ families privileges to know the whereabouts of their loved ones. The unfortunate Tesfaye’s mother did not know whether her son was alive or dead while he was experiencing earthly hell in TPLF prison for almost two years. Such is the case in the barbaric rule of TPLF. TPLF tortures not only its prime victims but also anyone related to its victims. The family frame work of Ethiopians is so tight that the suffering of one family member is the aguish of the rest. As a result, many say lots of torture victims’ parents have died from psychological and mental trauma.

Every reader please put yourself in Tesfaye’s place for a moment. What would you do when paid spies come to your home and take you away to unidentified place in your own country? As a citizen, what would you do when merciless cadres punch you until your bones broke apart or your eyes fell off? What would you do when a TPLF cadre immerse you in barrel of boiled water and then in to ice water? What would you do when insane spy agents connect you with electricity and shock you until your body shrinks like roast beef?  What would you do when a barbaric cadre severely beat you and you end up with no bladder/bowel control, blindness, deafness, mental incapacity and so on? What would you if you were Tesfaye’s father, mother; brother or sister when he tells you that he cannot control his urine because government agents who luxuriously live robbing citizens’ taxes tortured him?

Mind you! It is not a Fairy Tale, but a realty- scary underground TPLF show which has been running for more than two decades. Under these kinds of wicked crimes many have died, too many are unaccounted for and enormous have been suffering. Well, it is fair and just to cry for the release of known figures such as Eskinder Nega. However, forgetting the nameless victims of torture is not human.  In fact, the known figures could be kept in a relatively better condition, not because the TPLF members have human traits or respect for their own citizens but in fear of the westerners who throw baloney to TPLF bosses during their relentless begging. As we speak, the naked bodies of the nameless- TPLF victims are being thrown in to boiled water and shocked with electricity in scary- dark rooms just like that of Tesfaye’s naked body.

It is big time to search for these nameless victims. It is important we name them!  It is imperative that we and the world know them. It is human to help them.  Torture is color blind. It affects any ethnicity, gender, religion, and so on. Any language speaker’s flesh could shrink and give “chess” sound when shocked with electricity. Any religion follower’s skin sloughs off when immerses in barrel of boiled water. Any gender’s bladder could bust out when merciless-well fed spy agent steps up on it. It is past due to raise voices in Unison. It is overdue to say injustice enough in Ethiopia.

ለዜጎች መሰረታዊ ሰብዓዊና ዲሞክራሲያዊ መብቶችና ነፃነቶች የተሟላ ዋስትናና ጥበቃ ያጎናፀፈው ዲሞክራሲያዊው ህገ-መንግስታዊ ስርዓታችን የሀይማኖትን ነፃነት እኩልነት ለማረጋገጥ የፀኑ ተቋማዊና ህጋዊ ዋስትናዎችን አበጅቷል፡፡

በዚህም መሰረት መንግስትና ሀይማኖት እንዲነጣጠሉ አድርጓል፡፡ በመሆኑም በሀገራችን መንግስታዊ ድጋፍን የሚያገኝም ሆነ አሉታዊ ተፅእኖና ጫና የሚያደርግ አንዳችም ሀይማኖት እንዳይኖርም ተደርጓል፡፡

በሀይማኖትና በፖለቲካ መካከል ግልፅ ልዩነትን ያበጀው ህገ መንግስታዊው ድንጋጌ በግልፅም ሆነ በስውር ሀይማኖት የፖለቲካ አጀንዳ ማራማጃ መሆን እንደማይገባው ያመላክታል፡፡

በሀይማኖት ጉዳይ የፖለቲካዊ ጣልቃ ገብነትን የሚከለክለው ይህ መርህ የሀይማኖት ተቋማትም ራሳቸውን በፖለቲካ ውስጥ ጣልቃ ማስገባት የሌለባቸው መሆኑን በግልፅ ደንግጓል፡፡

ሀይማኖቶችን ከፖለቲካ ተፅዕኖ ለመጠበቅም ማንኛውም አይነት በህግ ፈቃድ የተሰጣቸው የድጋፍም ሆነ የተቃውሞ ሰልፎችና ህዝባዊ ስብሰባዎች፣ በፀሎትና በአምልኮ ቦታዎች ሀይማኖታዊ አገልግሎት ላይ አንዳችም ጫናና ተፅዕኖ ማድረግ በማይቻልበት ርቀት እንዲካሄዱ በህግ እንዲወሰን መደረጉ ይታወቃል፡፡

ካለፉት ሁለት ዓመታት ጀምሮ በአዲስ አበባና በአንዳንድ የክልል ከተሞች ውስጥ እነዚህ ህገ-መንግስታዊ መርሆዎች በሚፃረር አካሄድ ዜጎች የእምነት ነፃነታቸውን በተረጋጋና በሰላማዊ ሁኔታ እንዳይተገብሩ እንቅፋት በሚፈጥሩ ወገኖች መስጊዶች ሲታወኩና ሲበጠብጡ በርካታ ህገ ወጥ ተግባራትም ሲፈፅሙባቸው መቆየቱ ይታወቃል፡፡

እንዲህ አይነቶቹን ህገ ወጥ ተግባራት ሲፈፅሙ የቆዩ በአፍቅሮ ነዋይ የታወሩና በገንዘብ ለሚደጉሟቸው ወገኖች የሚሹትን ብጥብጥና ትርምስ ለማስፈን ላይ ታች የሚሉ ጥቂት የሰለፊ/ወሃቢ እምነት ተከታይ የሆኑ አክራሪዎች መሆናቸውን ለህዝብ በይፋ ከማሳወቅ አልፎ መንግስት ከመላው ሰላም ወዳዱ ህብረተሰብ ጋር በመተባበር የእነዚህን አክራሪዎች መረን የለቀቀ ህገ ወጥ አካሄድ ለመቆጣጠር ያስቻሉ ተከታታይ እርምጃዎችን መውሰዱ ይታወሳል፡፡

እነዚህ በገንዘብ የታገዙ የሰለፊ/ወሃቢ አክራሪዎች ዜጎች መንፈሳዊ ተግባራት በሚያከናውኑባቸው መስጊዶችና የፀሎት ስፍራዎች የሽብር አድማዎችን በመጠንሰስና በአገር ሰላምና ፀጥታ እንዲሁም በሰላማዊ ዜጎችና ምዕመናን ላይ አስከፊ የወንጀል ጥቃቶችን ለመፈፀም ሲያሴሩ ተገኝተው ህጋዊ እርምጃ የተወሰደባቸው መሆኑም ይታወሳል፡፡

ፌዴራል ፖሊስ ኮሚሽን ለኢሬቴድ በላከው መግለጫ እነዚህ አክራሪ ወሃቢ/ሰለፊ ቡድኖች ከፍ ሲሉ በተጠቀሱ ህገወጥ ድርጊቶች ብቻ ሳይወሰኑ እነዚህን ነውረኛ ድርጊቶቻቸውን የተቃወሙና ያጋለጡ የሀይማኖት አባቶች በአደባባይ የመግደል የሽብር ሴራዎችን የጠነሰሱት ዜጎች ሀይማኖታዊ አገልግሎት በሚያገኙባቸው መስጊዶች ውስጥ ነበር፡፡
እነዚህ አክራሪዎች ህገ ወጥ የሽብር ተግባሮቻቸውን የሚቃወሙ ምዕመናንና የሀይማኖት አባቶችን ስምየያዘ ዝርዝርን እስከማዘጋጀም በመድረስ በህብረተሰቡ ሰላማዊ ፀጥታ ላይ የተጋረጡ አደገኛ አሸባሪዎች መሆናቸውን በይፋ አሳይቷል፡፡

ግልፅ ፀረ-መንግስት መፈክሮች እና ፖለቲካዊ የተቃውሞ ውርጅብኞችን እያሰሙ የፀሎት ስርዓቶችን በማወክና በመበጥበጥ በዜጎች ላይ ከፍተኛ እንግልት አድርሰዋል፡፡

በቅርቡም ፖለቲካን ከሀይማኖት ጋር በመደባለቅ የፖለቲካ ትርፍ ለማግኘት ከተዘጋጁ ፖለቲካዊ የተቃውሞ ሰልፎች ከማዳመቅ አልፈው የሀይማኖት አባቶችን በአሰቃቂ መንገድ የገደሉ አሸባሪዎች ላይ የሚደረገው የፍርድ ምርመራ ስራ እንዲደናቀፍ ለማድረግ ሲሞክሩ ተስተውለዋል፡፡

እነዚህ ህገ ወጥ ድርጊቶቻቸውን አጠናከረው የቀጠሉት እነዚህ ለገንዘብ የተገዙ የሰለፊ/ወሃቢ አክራሪዎች መላው ሰላም ወዳድ የሙስሊም ማህበረሰብ አመታዊው ታላቁን የረመዳን ፆም ወር ለማጠናቀቅ በመንፈሳዊ ዝግጅት ላይ ባለበት ባሁኑ ወቅት ሰላምን ለማወክና በየመስጊዶቹ ሁከትና ብጥብጥ ለመቀስቀስ በማሰብ በተለይ ዘመናዊ የመገናኛ ብዙሀን አውታሮችን በመጠቀም ህገ-ወጥ ቅስቀሳዎችን እያደረጉ ይገኛሉ፡፡

ሰፊው ሰላም ወዳዱ ሙስሊም ህብረተሰብ እነዚህ አክራሪ የወሃቢ/ሰለፊ ምንደኞች ቤተ እምነቶችን ወደ ግርግር፣ ሁከትና የትርምስ ቀጠናነት ለመለወጥ ዛሬ ረብሻ አንዋር ነው፣ ነገ ደግሞ በሌላ መስኪድ ነው በማለት በሚነዙት አፍራሽ የአድማ ቅስቀሳ ሳይዘናጉና ፀሎቱን በተለመደው አኳኋን በየአካባቢው በማካሄድ የአክራሪዎችን ሴራ እንዲያከሽፍ ፖሊስ ጥሪውን ያስተላልፋል፡፡

በመሆኑም እነዚህ ምንደኞችና አክራሪዎች በነገው ዕለት በሀይማኖት ሽፋን በመስጊዶች ውስጥ የሚያካሄዱትን የጥፋት ድርጊት ለማስቆም ፖሊስ ተገቢና አስፈላጊውን እርምጃ የሚወስድ መሆኑን የፌዴራል ፖሊስ ኮሚሽን በጥብቅ ያሳስባል፡፡

መላ ኢትዮጵያውያን በተለይም ሰላም ወዳድ የሙስሊም ማህበረሰብ በስሙ እየማሉና እየተገዘቱ ከውጭ በሚላክላቸውነዋይ ህሊናቸው ታውሮ አርብ በመጣ ቁጥር በተመረጡ መስጊዶች ውስጥ ሁከትና ብጥብጥ ለመፍጠር ጥረት በሚያደርጉ አክራሪ ወሃቢ/ሰለፊዎች ላይ ተገቢውን ክትትል በማድረግ ፖሊስ ለሚወስደው እርምጃ የተለመደ ድጋፍና ትብብሩን እንዲያደርግ ፌዴራል ፖሊስ ኮሚሽን ለኢሬቴድ በላከው መግለጫ ጥሪ አቅርቧል፡፡
